Policy and Strategy Research Division

The AASE Institute's Policy and Strategy Research Division is dedicated to shaping an environment conducive to the flourishing of science-driven entrepreneurship. Recognizing that the commercialization of research is profoundly influenced by policy frameworks, funding priorities, and strategic ecosystems, the division works at the intersection of science, government, and industry to strengthen support for scientists as innovators.

The division's core responsibilities include conducting policy research and analysis on issues related to science commercialization, technology transfer, and the innovation ecosystem. By producing white papers, policy briefs, and industry reports, the division will provide valuable insights to decision-makers in government, academia, and industry. These publications will highlight the barriers scientists face in bringing their research findings to market and propose practical strategies for improvement.

In addition to research, the division fosters dialogue and engagement among stakeholders. By organizing policy roundtables, strategic forums, and collaborative workshops, the division will create opportunities for scientists to share their perspectives directly with policymakers and industry leaders. This will ensure that scientists' voices are reflected in the development of regulations, funding programs, and the national innovation agenda.

Another key focus is global benchmarking. The division studies international models of innovation policy and entrepreneurial ecosystems, drawing lessons that can be applied to strengthen the U.S. environment. Comparative analysis helps identify best practices for enhancing competitiveness and fostering cross-border collaboration.

Together, the Policy and Strategy Research Division plays a vital role in ensuring that science-driven entrepreneurship is not only supported at the institutional level but also integrated into national and global strategies. By integrating research with policy and practice, the division will build a stronger and more enabling ecosystem that enables scientists to transform discoveries into innovations that benefit society and the economy.
