Investment and Resource Connection Division

The AASE Institute's Investment and Resource Connection Division serves as a critical bridge between scientific innovation and the funding and strategic resources needed to bring research findings to market. Recognizing that access to funding and infrastructure is often one of the greatest challenges facing early-stage scientific startups, the division is dedicated to connecting breakthrough research with the investment and partnerships necessary for sustainable growth.

A key responsibility of the division is to actively connect scientists with diverse funding platforms, including venture capital firms, angel investors, corporate partners, and philanthropic foundations. Furthermore, the division provides guidance on government funding programs, such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Science and Technology Improvement (STTR) programs, ensuring access to the broadest range of funding. By helping scientists understand funding requirements and write compelling proposals, the division increases the likelihood of securing critical support.

Beyond funding, the division also emphasizes resource matching. It connects research projects with incubators, accelerators, contract research organizations, and manufacturing partners who can provide critical services such as regulatory strategy, business development, and product scale-up. These resources are tailored to the unique needs of science-driven enterprises, providing the infrastructure needed to advance innovations from early prototypes to market.

Another key responsibility of the division is fostering strategic partnerships. By fostering collaborations between scientists, investors, and industry leaders, the division aims to create long-term value beyond funding. These partnerships often lead to joint development projects, licensing agreements, or joint ventures, expanding the reach and impact of scientific discoveries.

Together, the Investment and Resource Connections Division ensures that innovative research does not stall due to a lack of funding or resources. Instead, the division is committed to building a robust R&D pipeline that enables science-driven enterprises to thrive, thereby advancing AASE's mission of translating scientific discoveries into societal and economic value.
